What personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

1. Who we are

Technosphere Innovations, operating from Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria, is the data controller for personal data processed through technosphereinnovations.com and its client portal.

This notice is issued under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 ("NDPA") and describes how we collect, use, share and protect personal data.

2. What we collect

  1. Account data — name, email address, telephone number, account type, and for company accounts the registered name, RC number, industry and website.
  2. Authentication data — hashed password, email verification status, two-factor authentication secret (encrypted), and recovery codes (hashed).
  3. Submission data — the ideas, descriptions and files you upload, and messages you exchange with us.
  4. Agreement records — the version and text hash of each document you accept, the name you typed, the date and time, and the IP address used.
  5. Technical data — IP address, browser user agent, device description, session times, and records of pages and files accessed within your account.
  6. Enquiry data — anything you submit through the contact or demo request forms.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data as defined in the NDPA, and ask that you do not include it in submissions.

3. Why we process it, and our lawful basis

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects concerning you.

4. Marketing

We send you operational messages about your account and your projects because they are necessary to provide the service; these are not marketing and cannot be switched off while your account is active. We send marketing only where you have opted in, and every marketing message carries an unsubscribe link.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:

  1. Our hosting provider, for the operation of the website and portal;
  2. Our email delivery provider, to send transactional messages;
  3. Payment processors, where you make a payment, who receive only what is required to process it;
  4. Professional advisers, where necessary and under a duty of confidence; and
  5. Regulators, courts or law enforcement, where we are legally required to.

Each processor acts on our documented instructions under a written agreement, as required by section 29 of the NDPA.

6. Transfers outside Nigeria

Some of our processors operate servers outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred abroad we rely on the conditions in Part VIII of the NDPA, including adequacy of the recipient jurisdiction, contractual commitments providing an adequate level of protection, or the necessity of the transfer for the performance of a contract with you. You may ask us which mechanism applies to a given transfer.

7. How long we keep it

8. Your rights

Under the NDPA you have the right to:

  1. be informed about how your data is processed;
  2. access the personal data we hold about you;
  3. have inaccurate data corrected;
  4. have your data deleted, where we have no overriding legal basis to retain it;
  5. restrict processing in certain circumstances;
  6. object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  7. receive your data in a portable format; and
  8. withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis relied on.

To exercise any of these, email info@technosphereinnovations.com. We respond within thirty (30) days. We may ask you to verify your identity first.

If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

9. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, encrypted two-factor secrets, optional two-factor authentication, storage of uploaded files outside the public web root, rate limiting, session revocation and logging of access to client submissions.

No system is perfectly secure. Where a personal data breach is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within seventy-two (72) hours of becoming aware of it, and will inform you without undue delay where the risk is high.

10. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. It is strictly necessary for the service and cannot be disabled while you use the portal. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

11. Children

The portal is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes

We may update this notice. The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page, and material changes will be notified to account holders by email.
